Government employees and their immediate family members may be eligible for temporary housing on a cruise ship or a hotel with which the cruiseline is contracting. This would only be short term - until February.

If you are interested in pursuing this, e-mail Mr. Christian at rowland.a.christian@vba.va.gov with your name, your FEMA #, the number of dependents who would be staying with you (spouse and children only), and a phone number where you can be reached. E-mail would be best, but you can also call Mr. Christian at 504-352-2022 or Mrs. Knapp at 504-352-2024. When he receives this information, Mr. Christian will send your request to the agency handling the requests.

This situation is changing constantly and no time frames or eligibility requirements were provided.
